What is an HS code?
The Harmonized System (HS) code is the international product code customs authorities use to classify traded goods. The first six digits are the same in more than 200 countries and economies; each country adds its own digits for its tariff.
How many digits does an HS code have?
Six digits are international. India's ITC-HS and the EU's Combined Nomenclature use eight digits, and the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule uses ten. The extra digits set the duty in that country.
How do I find the HS code for my product in India?
